This collection of four handwoven tapestries was born after an inspiring journey to São Miguel, the main island of the Azores. Deeply marked by the island’s humid greens, earthy tones and volcanic textures, I tried to translate the emotional landscape of that experience into woven form.

Each smaller tapestry is named after a region of the island – Furnas, Nordeste and Sete Cidades – capturing fragmented memories of each place. The collection culminates in a larger piece that bears the name of the island itself, São Miguel. Much like a patchwork quilt, each tapestry was constructed from small woven fragments later joined together, resembling a map of the journey.

At its core, this collection explores territory, landscape and the elements, translating the emotional imprint of travel into a tactile and enduring form.
